A children’s party to remember

Forget conjurors and sausages on sticks. How about a vegan cooking workshop? Birgit offers these for all ages and abilities.

The Tilling family went for a truly original party to celebrate their son’s 11th birthday: he wanted to produce his own party food on the spot with his friends – not just any old party food but Greek vegan party food – and he wanted to get it right. So I was booked for the event, and we spent three hours cooking a wide selection of dishes. All seven children enjoyed their different tasks and because they had prepared it themselves, they ate a lot of new foods that they might otherwise have turned up their noses at…

The boy’s Dad, Rob, said

Working with Birgit on designing the menu plan was both straightforward and efficient. She not only prepared food, but she planned and ran a fun party, guided children and covered for their failings as well as staying to eat and getting into the real swing of the party.

and the lad himself said

I enjoyed cooking. Birgit was a good head cook. The food was delicious and of a high standard. It had a good variety of flavours.
